Finding the ideal vintage tee can be challenging, but it's such a versatile piece it's worth the effort. I love the look of a tailored outfit mixed with a tissue-thin top from the 70's or 80's. There are several factors that come into play, from the type of shirt to the fit {not to mention, making sure it doesn't have any gross stains or smells}. I focused on two main priorities; a shirt that was music-related and had a worn-out softness. I'm particularly drawn to shirts that have some sort of a meaning and found an Iron Maiden top, which had great coloring and fit me nicely. The best part: it will work just as well with a pair of cut-offs and a baseball hat as it will tucked into a leather pencil skirt and heels.
